What Is Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS)?
Endoscopic ultrasound combines endoscopy and ultrasound to evaluate the internal organs of the chest and abdomen. EUS is minimally invasive, similar to a standard upper endoscopy (EGD). The close proximity of the ultrasound to the internal organs provides very detailed ultrasound images. These images can be used to help diagnose and determine the extent of spread for certain types of cancer including lung, esophagus, stomach, pancreas, bile duct and rectal cancers. EUS has many other uses that include the management of pancreas cysts, intestinal nodules, gallstones, unexplained pancreatitis, chronic abdominal pain and bowel incontinence.

What is covered by insurance?
We are the only provider in the region approved for Office Endoscopy coverage by these major insurance carriers: Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Cigna, Aetna, Wellpath, United Health Care and many others. In most cases only an insurance co-pay applies. Please contact us to see if we can work with your health care coverage.
