Dress in Blue Day at CGH

Charlotte Gastro offices and endoscopy centers kicked off Colon Cancer Awareness Month by participating in National #dressinblueday on Friday, March 6th. #BlueforCRC

Physicians and staff have ongoing team competitions all month long to raise awareness and funds toward their $5,000 goal for Get Your Rear in Gear! For Dress in Blue Day, teams and individual receive points for the number of blue items they could wear that day. There was also a contest to design the t-shirts featured in the photos below. Congratulations to Deirdre Marston and Renae Lynch of our Ballantyne Endoscopy Center for the winning designs!

Endoscopic Ultrasound

Endoscopic ultrasound is a minimally invasive procedure that combines endoscopy and ultrasound to produce highly detailed images of the lining and walls of the upper and lower gastrointestinal tract. These sound wave-produced images are used to determine the cause of symptoms of abdominal pain, or to diagnose or determine the spread of certain types of cancer. Radiofrequency Ablation for Barrett's Esophagus

Radiofrequency ablation is a treatment used for Barrett's esophagus which uses radio waves to kill precancerous and cancerous cells in the Barrett’s tissue.
