SAVE THE DATE for the 2016 CCFA Charlotte Patient and Family Education program.

Carolinas College of Health Sciences (1200 Blyth Blvd., Charlotte)
9:00am to 12:00pm.

Topics to be included are IBD in Childhood, IBD in Adolescence, Surgical Treatment of IBD, IBD in Young Adult, IBD in Elderly and De-Escalation of Treatment in IBD. The program will be divided into two sessions.

Endoscopic Ultrasound

Endoscopic ultrasound is a minimally invasive procedure that combines endoscopy and ultrasound to produce highly detailed images of the lining and walls of the upper and lower gastrointestinal tract. These sound wave-produced images are used to determine the cause of symptoms of abdominal pain, or to diagnose or determine the spread of certain types of cancer. Radiofrequency Ablation for Barrett's Esophagus

Radiofrequency ablation is a treatment used for Barrett's esophagus which uses radio waves to kill precancerous and cancerous cells in the Barrett’s tissue.
