THE PROCEDURE
What to Expect
Before the Procedure

The stool transplant sample will come from a carefully screened lab.

You'll undergo screening to ensure there are no other intestinal infections.

Follow all prep instructions carefully and drink the entire prep product as directed. If you're having trouble keeping the prep down, contact our office for guidance.
During and After the Procedure
You’ll arrive at Novant Presbyterian Medical Center the morning of your procedure. Upon arrival, you’ll have a bowel movement that will be processed for the transplant. You’ll then be sedated for the procedure. After the FMT is complete, you’ll rest for a few hours before going home with your driver. Our team will follow up to ensure the transplant was successful.
Bowel Prep
- Follow all colonoscopy-style prep instructions provided by your doctor
- Drink the entire prep product within the timeline instructed
- Contact our office if you’re unable to hold down the prep
- Complete all pre-procedure screening as directed
