Caroline Barrett, MD joined Charlotte Gastro in August of 2023 after completing her fellowship at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.

Dr. Brotze joined Charlotte Gastro in 2003 and is the former chairman of the Endoscopy Division at the Novant Huntersville Medical Center.

Dr. Chanaa completed his medical school at Marshall University in West Virginia, followed by internal medicine residency at Wake Forest and then gastroenterology fellowship here in Charlotte at Carolinas Medical Center.

Dr. Cheruvu feels that practicing medicine is truly an honor and a privilege. He’s humbled by the trust his patients instill in him and is pleased to be in a position to help.

Dr. Crews joined Charlotte Gastro in 2019 after completing his fellowship at the Indiana University School of Medicine.

Raj Dalsania, MD joins Charlotte Gastro in September of 2022 in an active role at the Randolph Road location after completing an advanced interventional endoscopy fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.

Dr. Fulp is interested in tropical medicine, international health, and caring for the underserved in the local community.

Dr. Shiv Gandhi is a gastroenterologist who is committed to delivering expert, evidence-based care with a compassionate, patient-centered approach.

Dr. Hatara joined CGH in March 2024. She brings over 9 years of clinical practice and extensive expertise in inpatient and outpatient practice.

Steven Josephson, MD is originally from the New York area. During his free time, he enjoys playing tennis, water skiing, snow skiing, and taking trips to the beach.

Dr. Khanna joined Charlotte Gastro’s Randolph Road medical team after completing an advanced interventional endoscopy fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA.

Dr. Sahil Khanna joined Charlotte Gastro after completing his fellowship at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, VA.

Dr. Kokenes has taken an active role in Charlotte’s medical community. He previously served as board member of the Hospice and Palliative Care Charlotte Region and was the founding board member and former treasurer of the North Carolina Society for Gastroenterology (NCSG).

Dr. Savan Kothadia is a gastroenterologist at Charlotte Gastro. Born and raised in the Charlotte area, he received his Bachelor of Science in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine.

Dr. Maddukuri believes in thoughtful decision making based on existing scientific evidence and judicious use of endoscopy and other available tools. He also believes in making patients active partners in their own care.

Dr. Mohanty has a special interest in the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease and is trained in both diagnostic and advanced therapeutic endoscopic techniques, including ERCP.

Dr. Nangia joined Charlotte Gastro in March of 2022 in an active role at the Huntersville and Mooresville locations.

Viral Patel, MD, FACG joined the Charlotte Gastro physician team in January 2019.

Dr. Prendiville has lived in Germany, Ireland, and Miami, Florida. Now that he’s settled in Charlotte, he stays busy keeping up with the activities of his three children.

Dr. Rawl joined Charlotte Gastro in 2016 after completing her fellowship in gastroenterology at Carolinas Medical Center.

Dr. John Gardiner Roddey is a native of Charlotte. He and his wife have three children.

Dr. Michael Ryan enjoys taking care of all aspects of GI disorders but strives to use advances in computer technology and clinical decision-support tools to stay on the cutting edge of medical care

Dr. Schmitz is a native of Kansas City, MO but has lived in North Carolina since 2001, when he joined Charlotte Gastro.

Dr. Sura joined Charlotte Gastro in 2021, bringing over six years of GI experience from a practice outside of the Charlotte area.

Dr. Thangavelu attended medical school at SUNY: Brooklyn, Downstate College of Medicine where she was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

Dr. Thekdi is originally from Toledo, Ohio but spent time in North Carolina during his undergraduate years at Duke University.

Dr. Toussaint joined Charlotte Gastro in 1998 and is one of the original members of the CGH physician team.

Dr. Wilson was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. He completed college and medical school in Cincinnati, then moved to Charleston, South Carolina to complete his internal medicine and gastroenterology training.

Dr. Younis is eager to provide patient-focused care to the Lake Norman community. He strives to utilize shared-decision making to help his patients meet their GI needs, while striving to deliver quality care.

Dr. Jeffrey Zaidman strives for his practice style to demonstrate the genuine care and concern he feels towards his patients’ well-being and their quality of life.

Prior to joining Charlotte Gastro, Amber worked as a Registered Nurse in medical/surgical, intensive care, emergency department, and Nursing supervision settings.

Patricia joined Charlotte Gastro in January 2021, bringing 16 years of experience caring for patients in the field of gastroenterology.

Hailu Kebede, PA-C joined CGH in fall of 2021. Prior to joining Charlotte Gastro, Hailu has previous experience working in gastroenterology for 9 years.

Andrea Kelly spent seven years as a PA in Maryland and in North Carolina before joining the Charlotte Gastro hospitalist team in 2019.

Prior to physician assistant school, Monica worked in multiple health specialties which included being a lab technologist, EMT, and nurse assistant. It was her heart for helping people and love of science that ultimately paved the way to becoming a physician assistant.

Lauren Maxwell, PA-C joined Charlotte Gastro’s Hospitalist Team in January of 2023.

Michelle Moulton is a certified family nurse practitioner. She is one of Charlotte Gastro’s hospitalists and is assigned to the Novant Presbyterian Medical Center where she assists physicians.

Prior to completing her master of science in nursing- family nurse practitioner degree, Amanda worked as a registered nurse for two years in Charlotte Gastro’s endoscopy units.

Radha Patel, PA-C, earned her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia, where she also completed her Bachelor of Science in Public Health.

Marcie Pickett is an adult certified nurse practitioner with experience as a registered professional nurse and an advanced practice nurse.

Prior to joining Charlotte Gastro, Colleen attended Wake Forest University for her undergraduate studies and Emory University for graduate school, where she graduated summa cum laude with a Master of Medical Science in the Physician Assistant Program.
